The Frenchman’s aunt, “Oh la la !
Qu'est ce que tu fais là haut?”
(Translation: Oh my!
What are you doing up there?)

Caline, “Just looking.”

The Frenchman’s aunt, “Attention, ne tombe pas!”
(Translation: Be careful, don’t fall!)

*Note: Because we left France to see my family we asked my husbands aunt to watch Caline and Frère for us. Here is what happened while they were with her.

3 days till Christmas

Caline, “Caline, this doesn’t look like home at all!”

Frère, “It doesn’t smell like it at all either!”

Caline, “Where are we?”
The Frenchman’s aunt, “Vous êtes chez moi.
Vous allez passer quelques vacances ici.”
(Translation: You’re in my home.
You’re going to spend some vacations here.)

Caline, “Ok, well if we’re going to stay here I’ll have to
check and make sure there is nothing scary here!
So far this drawer seems uncertain!”

 Caline, “Humm…”

Caline, “Well there’s nothing under here.”

Frère, “Good, I’ll hide here, you go check the rest!”

*Note: Frère’s has always been the one the hide even though he is bigger, to see click here.

The Frenchman’s wife, “Oh, how cute!”

The Frenchman’s wife, “Caline, I was going

What Happened over Christmas? Part 1

*Note: Because we used the holidays to go and see my family we were unable to put up posts. But here's what Caline and Frère did over the Christmas break!

15 days till Christmas

 Caline, “Humm, this is new!”

Caline, “Oh, a star! This is the best part!”

Caline, “Oh and this palm tree is the best too!”

A few minutes latter…

  Frère, “What’s this?”
The Frenchman’s wife, “That’s a nativity scene,
it tells the story of Christmas!”

Frère, “Oh la la, a star!”

Caline, “Try the tree, it’s the 2nd best part!”
Frère, “Oh, it is!”

*Note: This was just after we set up the nativity scene.  Caline is always the first to discover anything new, Frère is very cautious and waits for her to inspect first.
Caline and Frère love the star and palm tree so much because it is pointy and they enjoyed using it to rub their cheeks against just like this:

Le Chat dans le Panier

Frère, “Oh, how I love my basket!”

Frère, “It’s the best place to nap!”

Frère, “And now that it’s by the heater it’s
even that much better to sleep in!”

Cat Writer?

The Frenchman’s wife, “Frère, do you know that you
are laying on my writings.”

 Frère, “Yes I know that!”

Frère, “The view from here is wonderful!”

Frère, “And the heat is perfect! Did you know
that your papers make a wonderful pillow?”
The Frenchman’s wife, “No I didn’t but you will have
to move so I can get back to work!”

*Note: Caline and Frère love to take napes on my desk because it is just above the heater. Here is a picture of Caline as she woke up:

Caline, “Salut!”
(Translation: Hi!)
